Title: Murder in Retribution
Series: New Scotland Yard/Doyle and Acton #2
Author: Anne Cleeland

Doyle is assisting Acton in investigating a turf war between the Russian mafia and a Sinn Fein splinter group, with the warring sides in a fight to the death over who will control a money-laundering operation at the local race course. The London CID is racking up a body count and Doyle can dredge up little sympathy for the victims—that is, until she notices there is very little forensic evidence at any of the scenes.

In the second book of the Murder series, Doyle and Acton find themselves trying to outwit enemies foreign and domestic as they work to untangle the reason that the underworld war has spun out of control.

Doyle and Acton are on the case again. But this time, Doyle is having an issue with her health. And when they find out the true reason behind it, things start to get a little bit dicey. Especially when Doyle realizes Acton is hiding things again, which is never a good thing at all. Now, she will do whatever she can to stand by her husband.

This book was really good, and a lot better than the first one. I only had two issues with it, and that was how Acton acted when Doyle lost something. He claimed it hers, and not his as well. I know that is kind of cryptic, but I don't want to give it away.

And then I didn't like what Doyle did with Williams towards the end. That was annoying, and I didn't get it.

Other than that this mystery was good, and I adore Doyle and Acton together. They are super nuts, and awesome. I totally look forward to more in this series!
