The High Demon race is dying, and nothing short of a miracle will save it. Kifirin has promised to provide that miracle, in any way he can.
Reah has worked in the kitchens of her family's restaurants since the age of eight. The only daughter among Addah Desh's 27 children from eight wives, Reah has been ignored, belittled and abused all her life. When the conscription notice comes from the Regular Alliance Army, Reah is more than happy to report for duty in order to escape her family. Unfortunately, her liberation is short-lived...
Reah has lived her life with her brother being horrible to her, and the rest of her family just as bad. Then one day she has to serve the alliance, and she's all for getting away from her family. But, things may have just gotten somewhat worse. Now, she's starting to learn things about herself that she never knew, and she's also falling for someone who seems to be helping her. However, that could end up being a major mistake.
This book was really good, and it really opened up this whole world for Reah and her friends. I really enjoyed this one and I look forward to more in this series.
