We all have a purpose. I was eighteen years old when I found mine. I also fell in love, hard. His name is Gadget. He is the master of shadows. He's a player in the game. Death was that game. We're called hitters, killers for hire.
My name is Camo. I have the ability to hide in plain sight. I wear many faces. A ghost with a rifle. He knows me by voice, nothing more. Where he is good, I'm the best. For his safety, I stayed away. Six years I've spent keeping him alive, killing many, while pining for him from behind the lens of my scope.
But a threat from within forces me to approach Gadget face to face. With no mask or makeup, no background to blend in, he would see me for who and what I really was. A beautiful killer who found her purpose.
I had it all figured out too. I just had to keep him alive, protect his family, draw out the threat and eliminate it.
My plan was to do this while making him fall so far in love with me that he would simply overlook my role in setting him up. For me it was simple, I found my purpose and I was keeping him.
You know, for as long as we both shall live...
Camo is good at what she does. No, she's better than good she's amazing and that leads to all of her problems with the one man she's been trying to protect for years.
Gage is good at what he does, however, he knows that the woman he wants is better than he is. That's a problem, but for now he wants to do everything he can to keep himself safe and to get her in his bed. That could be easier said than done.
But Camo isn't going to give up, and Gage may be stubborn he's still going to do everything he can to have what he considers as his.
The second book in this series is very interesting. Now, Gage is very hard to like at times because of his attitude, but he makes up for that thankfully. I did want to slap him a few times along the ride though.
Camo on the other hand is the complete shit. She's utterly amazing and totally my hero. She kicks ass and takes names while doing it, I adored Camo. And I totally loved how she treated Gage as well.
I thought this was a very good book, the plot line kept me interested and wanting more. And I'm look forward to more in this series now.
