Title: That Thing Between Eli & Gwen
Author: J.J. McAvoy
Rating:

Eli Davenport thinks he’s found the perfect woman to be his wife. She’s a doctor, like he is. She’s brilliant, like he is. And she’s wealthy, like he is.

Guinevere ‘Gwen’ Poe thinks her fiance is the perfect man. He’s handsome, successful and he was her first…

But when Eli’s bride runs off with Gwen’s fiance on his wedding day, they are left to pick up the broken pieces of each other…

This book starts off slightly sad and funny at the same time. Eli and Gwen just lost their partners and now neither one is sure what to do. But after each of them have some stranger verbal battles, and Gwen moves next door to Eli they become friends.

However, as they get closer people keep trying to keep them apart, and little did they know that something crazy may happen before they can be together for real.

I thought I was going to adore this book, but I'm sad to say I only liked it. I really loved the whole first half. But then the characters started to act different towards the middle, and I just couldn't feel much between them anymore.

Then the twist in the end just made me mad. I felt like nothing was really resolved and I was beyond frustrated with the story. So, overall I liked this one because of how interesting it was, till the end, and because of the characters the first half.

My name is JJ and I’m a student currently living in Ottawa. I wrote Ruthless People in the summer of 2013 in hopes of giving myself a new type of love and crime drama. I never would have imagined that so many of you would enjoy it as well! I truly feel blessed to have fans like you all. Writing is my true love and having you all love my words is a dream come true.
