Title: Spearwood
Author: A.S. Oren
Rating:

Avalon, the first female born to the Dragon shifters in centuries, has hidden for most of her life. Running from monsters that rose because of her parents’ past. Sent away for her own protection, she’s raised by a stranger and trained with Paden, Maverick, and Jericho. They must make sure she will prevails once Spearwood calls on her.

Spearwood begins when Avalon is five years old. She and her family are running from the monsters that are chasing her. In order to help protect them all Avalon must be seperated from her family in order to train till she becomes fifteen. This is hard on all of them, but Avalon soon has a new family. And as she comes into her powers things start to get even more strange for all of them.

This was a very unique story! I adored how interesting it was, and I loved how it started out with them at a very young age and we got to watch them grow. That was truly different from any story I've read before.

I loved the dragon aspect to the story as well, that just threw in a whole lot of interesting things to happen.

The only thing that was a little hard to deal with was the fact that it was hard for me, as the reader, to really "feel" what the main characters were feeling. I didn't really feel like it had a lot of depth when it came to the emotion of the story. But other than that I thought it was good.
