Seventeen year old Rose Goldman is highly unpopular in the little town of Halfway. Ever since the 'attack' when she was a little girl, people and animals have been afraid of her. She gets bullied in school, and called 'wet dog' because of the way she smells, despite being extremely hygienic. However, life takes a turn when a new teacher starts at Halfway High. Mr. Stone, the quirky and charismatic English teacher is twice Rose's age, but she feels an unexplainable pull towards him from day one. Despite her better judgement, Rose pursues a friendship with Mr. Stone, who seems unable to stay away from her. What is pulling this unlikely pair together?
This story begins when Rose gets a new English teacher at her school. She feels a strange pull towards him, and can't seem to stay away. However, it's bad for both of them to be together, and they are each keep secrets from each other. But as time goes things get more and more complicated for both of them.
This book started off interesting, but then it sort of fell flat for me. I grew frustrated with the characters and the actions they took. And I also couldn't really feel much of their "connection." The story seemed to lack emotion till the end. Then it ended kind of on a cliffhanger.
Overall this was not for me, and I didn't like it. Just not my type of thing really.
