Max Leokov has watched the people around him find love. At one point in life, he not only wanted that, but lived for it. He loved once. He loved with all his heart. His heart broken, he was left to care for his young daughter.
He deserves a second chance.
Helena Kovac has spent years studying. She has worked her ass off to get her degree. She doesn't have time for love. Hell, she doesn't have time to mess around, even. Books and work are her life. Everything else comes second.
When Max and Helena join forces to help his daughter, Ceecee, they are shocked at the spark between them.
A cynic. A workaholic.
When love hits, it hits hard.
And sometimes, love hurts.
This story begins when Helena moves to New York for a new job. She's living right next door to her sister, and she's spending more time with her sister's new family. Then there is Max. She sees him as a major flirt, and after one horrible encounter she wants to stay away from him, but he won't let her. After, making her help with his daughter, he knows he should stay away but he can't help himself, and she's all ready on the way to a huge crush. They better work together, before it all blows up in their face. This one was pretty interesting, but I felt it was missing something the previous books had. I'm not sure what exactly, it just felt that way to me. I also felt like towards the end it just went by so quickly with out a lot of work for their HEA. That was kind of annoying. Other then that I enjoyed both characters, and the funny side of the story! I do look forward to reading more in this series.
