Title: White Hot Kiss
Series: The Dark Elements #1
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout

One kiss could be the last.

Seventeen-year-old Layla just wants to be normal. But with a kiss that kills anything with a soul, she's anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses.

Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she's crushed on since forever.

Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she's not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn't an issue, considering Roth has no soul.

But when Layla discovers she's the reason for the violent demon uprising, trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne… it could brand her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket to the end of the world.

White Hot Kiss begins when Layla ends up getting attacked by a demon. When this happens she ends up running into Roth, who is a Upper Level Demon, but for some strange reason he doesn't want to hurt her. After going back to the place she calls home and telling her friends and her long time crush and best friend Zayne about it, things start to get a little crazy. Especially when Zayne is off limits, and there's a girl coming around who can actually be with him. And then Roth seems to be turning up at every corner where she's at.

This book was really good. I loved the whole story line, and the characters for the most part. I really didn't like Layla at first. She was so whiny, and kept crying a whole lot. It drove me nuts. But she got better towards the end.
Spoilers Ahead..

Also, this story has a major love triangle. The thing is, I'm totally Team Roth! I loved the relationship between him and Layla. However, I did like Zayne sometimes as well, but I liked Roth more. But then the end was horrible sad. I don't know if it was meant to be that sad, but I ended up crying my eyes out. Now, I'm so freaking excited to read the next book!

This series has demons, crazy hot guys, a lost girl whose just trying to find her place, and lots of kick butt action and a good dose of romance to add to the mix.
