It's not always easy being a female warrior with a nickname like Annwyl the Bloody. Men tend to either cower in fear - a lot - or else salute. It's true that Annwyl has a knack for decapitating legions of her ruthless brother's soldiers without pausing for breath. But just once it would be nice to be able to really talk to a man, the way, she can talk to Fearghus the Destroyer.
Too bad that Fearghus is a dragon, of the large, scaly and deadly type. With him, Annwyl feels safe - a far cry from the feelings aroused by the hard-bodied, arrogant knight Fearghus has arranged to help train her for battle. With her days spent fighting a man who fill her with fierce, heady desire, and her nights spent in the company of a magical creature who could smite a village just by exhaling, Annwyl is sure life couldn't get any stranger. She's wrong.
Pick It For Me Challenge!
Dragon Actually begins when Annwyl thinks she's about to die. She knows that she can't go on any longer, and the men around her will want her dead, her brother finally got his wish. But alas it is not yet her time to die.
She is saved by Fearghus the Destroyer, who is a dragon! Yep, you read that right, a DRAGON, big scary with scales! See, the thing is these dragons are a little different then the stories make them out to be... And Annwyl doesn't really know that, so as she grows closer to this dragon while she gets healed, she also gets training from a strange Knight who is said to be the dragon's "friend." While all of this is happening Annwyl's brother is trying his hardest to find her, and set in motion a horrible plan to kill her.
With all of this going on you really aren't sure what's going to happen next, but it will blow your mind.
The whole 70 percent of the book is all the main story, then the last percent of it is a short story about the Dragon Queen and King.
This book was really very good. I loved the fire and spirit in Annwyl, and how she may have been afraid at times she never let that stop her from doing what she needed to do. She was very passionate as well. I truly adored her. She is one of the fiercest heroines I've ever read about! And the hero in this one was pretty awesome too. I mean, who wouldn't love a dragon? The plot line was also very interesting, and had me hooked from the start. This was an awesome start to this series, and I look forward to reading more as well!
