Romantic Suspense's Rising Star Returns with an Electric New Thriller
A relaxing day of rock climbing takes a disturbing turn when Kayden McKenna's route leads her face to face with a dead climber. Is it a terrible accident or something sinister? When the case is handed to the overburdened sheriff, he turns to Jake Westin. With Jake's past now revealed, he's ready to use his talent for investigation again--but he could never prepare for where the case will take him.
Kayden and Jake soon realize that the death was no accident. And worse, it seems the killer is on to them. When strange things begin happening in Yancey, Jake is terrified that once again his world may put someone he loves in danger. But the truth is far worse than he could ever imagine.
Silenced begins when Kayden and her friends are out rock climbing. Things start to go bad when she finds a dead body. Everyone else seems to think that he's dead because of an accident while climbing, but Kayden feels differently. So now Jake, and Kayden set out to figure out what exactly happened. Along the way these two know how they feel about the other, but aren't sure how to express it. It may be too late by the time they figure out how to tell the other...
This story was interesting. It had a nice plot line, that kept me interested. But I just didn't feel connected to the characters. And it really didn't help that this was the first book of this series I've read. I should have read the others first before this one. But I did like this story, it wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either.
