The only thing you can plan for in life is change.

There are caves located in the foothills of the Appalachians which run through North Alabama. Quiet and mostly untouched land surrounds them as the mountains fall lazily toward the Tennessee River waterway. Decades ago men hid their stills in those caves. Today something much more sinister is cooking within them.

Jessica Mackenzie made a plan for herself early on; she dedicated herself to it and worked the hell out of it. Until four men got in the way. Life turned on a dime and kept spinning as though it hung by a string.

If you’re lucky you work through the changes in life, become stronger by surviving and learn the only thing that really matters — the real deal― is love.

*Due to adult content and language, this book is intended for audiences 18 years and older.*

Title: The Real Deal
Author: Kendal Waller

The Real Deal begins with Jesse returning home after graduating college. She's bound and determined to help her dad fix up their family farm, and make it her own. But once she gets home things only get bad. Her father is sick, and her brother is trying to get them to sell the farm due to her father's health. Not only that but Jesse has two of the Kincaide brother's interested in her, and trouble with the horse barn. Then she starts to learn some scary things about what is really going on with her farm once she gets to know Sawyer more.. Jesse has a long way to go but she's not going to give up on the life she wants, or the love she has.

This book was good, but not great. I didn't really like it as much as the previous books I've read by this author, but I still felt it was good. The author did a wonderful job of letting all of Jesse's frustration, and pain out in the book. I could feel all of her emotions. The start of the book was pretty slow though, but once you got to the middle it picked up and got a whole lot more interesting. I also really loved Sawyer. His character was a complete badass alpha male, who was majorly swoon worthy! But I didn't really like his brother at all, I thought he was a major jerk. The ending was really good as well, and I was so happy about what happened!
