Kate Daniels has quit the Order of Merciful Aid, but starting her own business isn't easy when the Order starts disparaging her good name. And being the mate of the Beast Lord doesn't bring in the customers, either. So when Atlanta's premier Master of the Dead asks for help with a vampire, Kate jumps at the chance. Unfortunately, this is one case where Kate should have looked before she leapt.
Magic Slays has the whole magical community in danger. Someone has figured out how to create a device that takes out everyone who has any type of magic. That includes shapeshifters, mages, the People, and many many more. So now Kate is going to do everything she can to help. However, Kate's life isn't getting any easy she and Curran are still trying to get used to being mated. And Kate is also trying to make her buisness function with out more help from the pack. She wants to stand on her own two feet. Not only that but we have old friends coming back. And some very important people to Kate end up getting hurt.
This one was good. And I was glad we got to see more of Kate, and Curran's relationship ship. But I'm kind of frustrated with what happened to Julie. I'm not really sure I like the kid, and I don't know if I agree with what Kate did. Also it seems like everyone seems to know everything about who she is, and where she came from. Also Kate found out a whole lot more about the man who raised her, and the woman who gave birth to her. This one had a whole lot going on, but it was still very interesting.
