Whispers in the Dark begins with Nathan being help captive after there was an attack on his team. He's been there for a while now, and he's losing his grip on life, and his will to survive. But when a soft sweet voice whispers to him in his mind he finally has something to live for. He's having a hard time believing the voice is real, and not something he imagined.. But when he finally gets rescued by his brothers he realizes that the voice, Shea, was actually real.
Then six months later, he finally hears the Shea. He's missed her so much, and has tried to contact her a lot but there was no response on till now. Now she is in danger, and he's going to do everything he can to help her. And they find out a whole lot of crazy things about Shea, and her sister Grace who is missing now. Through out all of this drama, Nathan and Shea form a very unique bond, and it blooms into a wonderful relationship.
I was a little bit nervous about reading this one because of the fact that Shea had "gifts." I really thought it would make the story sort of dumb, but once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. Whispers in the Dark was awesome! Probably my second favorite so far in this series! The author did a wonderful job with the "how" and "why" Shea has gifts, and that just added a whole lot of crazy awesomeness to this story as well. I have to say the only thing that did bother me was I felt like the issue with Grace was never resolved. I don't know if it will be resolved in another book, or what but it was kind of frustrating. But other than that I loved Shea, and Nathan together. And I can not wait to read the next book!
