A former football star and one of Chicago’s top prosecutors, Assistant U.S. Attorney Cade Morgan will do anything to nail a corrupt state senator, which means he needs Brooke Parker’s help. As general counsel for a restaurant company, she can get a bug to the senator’s table at one of her five-star restaurants so the FBI can eavesdrop on him. All Cade has to do is convince Brooke to cooperate—and he’s not afraid to use a little charm, or the power of his office, to do just that.
AND WHAT HE WANTS IS HER.
A savvy businesswoman, Brooke knows she needs to play ball with the U.S. Attorney’s office—even if it means working with Cade. No doubt there’s a sizzling attraction beneath all their sarcastic quips, but Brooke is determined to keep things casual. Cade agrees—until a surprising turn of events throws his life into turmoil, and he realizes that he wants more than just a good time from the one woman with whom he could fall terrifyingly, irresistibly in love . .
As the fourth book in this series begins we get to see Cade Morgan needing help in one of the FBI cases he's working on. So he goes to Brooke Parker to get her help bringing down the bad guys. Brooke being a lawyer her self goes toe to toe with Cade, and that brings a great surprise to Cade. Now once this case is situated these two have a lot more in common besides working together. They also have major spark going on. But neither of them want anything serious, so they both decide on having a casual relationship. That is until other opportunities arise, and they both have to figure out what they really want, and how they really feel about each other.
This book was very good. I laughed through out most of the book. It was one of the funniest so far in this series. I also loved both of the main characters. They were so much alike yet so different as well. They were the perfect couple, and I really enjoyed seeing them together. I also enjoyed getting to see a lot of backround on Cade. We get to see his past come back to him, and it makes things much more interesting. Then getting to see Brooke's out look on everything was awesome as well. Now I'm seriously looking forward to the next book. I'm so glad this one turned out so much better than I had expected.
