After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.
Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything. But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on? And will they even be together?
In the fourth book in the Lux series Daemon is going to stop at nothing to get Katy back. He knows from Dawson and Beth that the things they will do to hurt won't be good. She could come back completely broken, but he will be there for her. Katy is just trying to survive day to day without losing herself completely. She doesn't want to end up like some soulless mindless minion for these people who kidnapped her. They keep trying to tell her that the Luxen are the bad guys. That they are out to take over the world. The problem with that is Katy knows Daemon would never do that, but she doesn't know about the other Luxen. I have to say I really hated the part where they tried to turn Katy against the Luxen. It really bothered me that these "people" could say all of this bad stuff against the aliens, yet they were willing to kidnap people and hurt them to get what they wanted. The humans are no better than the aliens. If anything they are worse. Other than that I loved how we got to see so much of Daemon and Katy together. And we got to read a whole lot of Daemon's point of view, and that totally rocked! I really love these two characters even more now after what they had to go through, and are still going through. In this one, there are some new friends, and new enemies. Some people they thought they could trust end up not being very trust worthy, not only that but they lose more of the people they care about as well. I couldn't believe that happened to so many of them. Wow, I won't say more because I don't want to ruin it. But jeez, that was really sad. And lastly, I did not like the ending. I can not believe it ended like that just completely leaving the readers going WTF? Really I have no idea whats going to go down next but I can not wait to read it and find out. Now the horrible waiting period for the next book. *Sigh* Over all this book was really good. There were just a few things that bugged me as I mention before. But now I'm super excited for the next book. And I seriously love this series!
