The dark secret Kayden has kept hidden for years is out. Worse, he's facing charges for battery. The only way he stands a chance against the charges is if Callie speaks up, something he'll never ask her to do.
Callie knows Kayden is going back to his dark place and desperately wants to save him. But saving him means admitting her secrets aloud. Callie and Kayden are stronger than they think, especially when they're together. Together they move forward, face their demons, and finally start to heal from their traumatic pasts.
The conclusion to The Coincidence series was sort of a let down. In this one Callie is trying to do everything she can to be there for Kayden and show him that she cares, and he deserves good things. But he's trying to push her away to help save her from him.
And there is a lot more drama when you add Luke and Seth to the mix. We get to see Seth getting over a lot of his problems, but we also get unanswered questions about all of Luke's problems. At the end I really wondered if there will be another book, or another series about Luke.
Anyways overall this book was okay. I was really frustrated with Kayden. I felt like he regressed a lot in this book. And I wished he would have leaned on Callie a little more, but in the end I was semi happy with the things that happened between them. I still feel like there are some questions that have gone unanswered. But I also feel like maybe Callie and Kayden will continue to help each other through out their lives. So again this one was okay, it wasn't as good as the first.
