Title: The Last Song
Author: Nicholas Sparks
Rating: 4 Shooting Stars

Seventeen year-old Veronica “Ronnie” Miller’s life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father… until her mother decides it would be in everyone’s best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie’s father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story about love in its myriad forms – first love, the love between parents and children – that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that deeply felt relationships can break our hearts… and heal them.

Wow this book was truly amazing! I really loved Steve in the book, he was a wonderful father, and just a great person in general.
The book starts with Ronnie and her brother getting sent to spend the summer with their dad. Ronnie doesn't want anything to do with her dad, and hasn't spoken to him in three years since he left them.  She's the typical rebel teen except she doesn't do drugs, or drink, but she has made mistakes and she's taken the fall for them. She is very open and honest, and she's not afraid to admit when she's made a mistake. I thought that was a very redeeming quality about her. She does do somethings in the book that I think go hand in hand with each other, but it seems to be her personality trait. She seems to get upset, and say things before really thinking about it.
Anyways while she's spending the summer with her dad, she not only runs into more trouble, she finds love.
Will knows something is different about Ronnie the minuet he meets her, she's not like all the other girls around who just seem to tell him what he wants to hear. She is someone who speaks her mind, and Will finds that intriguing enough to try to seek her out to spend more time with her. Things progress between them, and a wonderfully sweet romance blooms. But things tend to get in the way of their romance, like ex girlfriends, friends, enemies, and some family members not wanting them to be together. Along with that Will is going to college far away from Ronnie, and she doesn't yet know what she's going to do in her life.
This was a wonderful story about two people from different worlds falling in love, and learning things about life. I very much enjoyed this book, and I highly recommend it!
