Readers who enjoyed Twilight, Vampire Diaries, Blue Bloods and The Morganville Vampires will enjoy The Emerald Talisman.
The Emerald Talisman is a young adult vampire story. It's about Julia Parker meeting a strange boy when she almost dies. Now she has a huge fascination with him, but he doesn't seem to want anything to do with her. This book was okay overall. I had quite a few things that bugged me about it, so it ended up being only okay. I probably won't be reading the rest in the series either. It bothered me the fact that Julia had only just met the boy who saved her but she has a huge crush on him. Her feelings drove me nuts. And then her "gift" is hardly talked about, and it didn't seem to have a huge effect on the story either. I felt just super frustrated with this. And in the end when Julia keeps things to herself that affects others equally bothered me too.
