Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges...
Leila's psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn't sure what the future holds. If that weren't enough, her lover, Vlad, has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she's also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold shoulder treatment forever–especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won't admit that he loves her.
Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity...
Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust– the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity.
I was so excited about this book, I just couldn't wait to read it. And I was not disappointed when I read it. It was wonderful! I loved it!
Leila is getting tired of the way things are going with Vlad, so she decided to leave him because she doesn't want to spend the rest of her life loving someone who won't even try to love her back. I felt so much sorrow for her, but I admired her courage to actually leave instead of live the rest of her life like that. I was so amazed she actually did it, I really wasn't sure she would, or I thought Vlad would stop her. She does leave, but things go from bad to worse for Lelia, it seems she just can't get a break. Now someone is trying to capture her, and kill her again. So she needs Vlad's help again if she going to make it out alive, and find the killer.
Lelia is so strong willed, and powerful. She is the perfect match for Vlad, I am so glad she found him. :)
And Vlad is awesome, he's so ruthless and strong, and he will stop at nothing to protect what he considers his. This story was so interesting, I laughed and cried a few times. I really couldn't believe Vlad was going to be so prideful and stubborn when it came to Lelia. But I guess he had to go through a few trials so he could "wake up" and realize what he had right under his nose.
You get to see a small glimpse of Cat from the Night Huntress Series in the book as well, she doesn't have a major role in this book, she does get to say a few things, and always when it's Cat, it is interesting.
I highly recommend this book, and I can't wait for more to come in this series!
