No connections. Play it safe. These were the rules Ivey lived her life by.
Until she hit Mustang, Colorado, a perfectly imperfect town where the citizens were welcoming and one of them included the tall, beautiful, macho man rancher cowboy, Grayson Cody.
On the run for a decade, Ivey knew she was supposed to play it safe. But she was tired of being on the run. She wanted a normal. She wanted real. She wanted a home.
And she wanted Grayson Cody.
And Grayson Cody wanted Ivey.
No one who looked at them couldn’t see they belonged together. There was one man in this world for Ivey and one woman in this world for Grayson Cody.
So they fell in love.
But just as quickly as they fell together, they were betrayed and torn apart. Separated for years, Ivey was certain her life would not include her rancher cowboy. Until the town of Mustang reached out to her when Gray was in trouble. Even though she thought he broke her heart, she charged in to help. Then Gray and Ivey discovered they were betrayed and, not only that, Gray had an enemy who would stop at nothing to defeat him.
Play It Safe, that was the way Ivey had to live her life with her brother. That is until she met Gray! Then her life started to change, she didn't want to be the pool hustler any longer, she wanted to stay right where she was with Grayson Cody. But we don't always get what we want, and some really horrible people decided to play with Ivey and Gray's life and rip them apart.
I love this book! One of my favorite books of all time. You've got a wonderful small town of Mustang, Colorado, with lots of small town people in it who are very caring and loving. Along with Gray the sexy cowboy. I love the plot of this story, and how it was written. It made me laugh, cry, get scared, pissed and excited. All the things I love in a good book, and Play It Safe seriously has it!
Ivey is a wonderful character. She has this awesome no bull crap spirit, and she's very smart, and sweet considering all of the bad things that have happened to her in life.
Then you have Gray, he's another awesome character, who is strong, sweet, and a rancher alpha man. He doesn't give up on what he wants and he seriously wants Ivey.
"Tell me you love me, Ivey."-Gray
That is one of the sweetest, hottest phrases I've ever heard! The relationship between Gray and Ivey is so awesome. They are both really smart, and they both understand each other. Along with the passion and their spirits they have an explosive romance. It was so sad all of the bad things that happened to their relationship because of really crappy people!
I also like Lash, another character you meet towards the middle of the book, but he was a really nice character. He was another alpha man, but he was different then Gray, a lot different! But I still love his relationship with Ivey as well, he really took care of her, and I'm glad Ivey got to have that while she didn't get to be with Gray. I don't want to say more about this because I'll ruin the story!
I highly recommend this book. It is wonderful, and I can not wait for more to come!! Hopefully it will happen one day soon!
